A law firm specializing in Energy and Infrastructure seeks a Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor degree or equivalent, along with 2+ years of experience in debt financings within the energy or infrastructure sector. This role involves conducting legal research, due diligence, drafting financing documents, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of closing deliverables.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research using the Securities and Exchange Commission’s EDGAR platform and other relevant resources.
  • Perform due diligence on financing, merger and acquisition, or project documents related to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate the timely delivery of closing deliverables, including charter documents and good standing certificates.
  • Draft debt financing documents utilizing precedent financing documents and template provisions.
  • Conduct due diligence for the U.S. Federal Government’s Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) loan program.
  • Maintain and update checklists for financings involving clients and/or affiliates.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree or equivalent.
  • Admission to practice law in the District of Columbia.
  • 2+ years of experience representing clients in debt financings within the energy or infrastructure sector.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor degree or equivalent.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in the District of Columbia.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in conducting legal research using EDGAR and other resources.
  • Strong analytical and due diligence skills.
  • Excellent drafting skills for financing documents.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining and updating checklists.
