Job Overview:

A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Energy and Infrastructure Associate Attorney with a strong background in U.S. domestic renewables, including solar, wind, energy storage, and alternative fuels. The ideal candidate should possess a J.D. degree, be admitted to the New York State Bar and/or D.C. Bar, and demonstrate expertise in renewables with a focus on debt and tax equity documents.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support on U.S. domestic renewables transactions, including solar, wind, energy storage, and alternative fuels.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex project documents related to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Serve as the lead associate, overseeing all aspects of U.S. renewables transactions, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with sponsors and lenders, representing both parties in the negotiation and execution of energy projects.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to regulatory compliance, project finance, and energy policy.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar and/or D.C. Bar.
  • Proven background in renewables, specifically U.S. domestic renewables.
  • Experience with debt and tax equity documents in the context of energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of project documents and the ability to take a lead role in transactions.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar and/or D.C. Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in U.S. domestic renewables, including solar, wind, energy storage, and alternative fuels.
  • Strong understanding of debt and tax equity documents in the context of energy projects.
  • Ability to manage and lead all aspects of U.S. renewables transactions.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
