Job Overview: A law firm in New York City is seeking a skilled Patent Attorney with expertise in AI technologies to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting prior art searches, and advising on freedom-to-operate analyses. Collaboration with inventors and clients to manage patent portfolios is essential.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with inventors to understand new AI technologies and assess their patentability.
  • Conduct and analyze the results of prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws.
  • Liaise with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
  • Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
  • Experience with AI/ML theory, including backpropagation, regularization, and optimization.
  • Experience in preprocessing data, selecting features, training/tuning models, and deploying models to production environments.
  • Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
  • Registered to practice with the USPTO.
  • Active member and in good standing of NY Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.
