Defense Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will work alongside seasoned attorneys, handling premises liability, general liability, and commercial coverage cases. They will be involved in all stages of cases, from pre-suit claim investigation through trial and appeal. Duties:

• Analyze and summarize legal documents relevant to cases.
• Conduct thorough research on legal issues, individuals, businesses, and worksites.
• Evaluate cases and strategically develop defense strategies.
• Conduct client meetings and recommend legal strategies.
• Investigate facts, plan, prepare, and conduct depositions.
• Prepare and argue motions in court.
• Conduct hearings and mediations.
• Prepare witnesses and corporate representatives for testimony.
• Brief at trial and appellate courts.
• Write defense mediation summaries.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in defense litigation.
• Active license in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
• Solid insurance defense experience, with professional liability and/or coverage litigation experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and research skills.
• Superior writing, analytical, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to review and interpret financial records is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license and in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
