A law firm based in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Mid to Senior level Tax Associate Attorney with the following responsibilities:

 

Duties:

  • Conducting advanced legal research and analysis on complex tax matters.
  • Drafting and reviewing a wide range of legal documents including agreements, opinions, and tax filings.
  • Providing strategic advice and guidance to clients on transactional tax issues.
  • Leading and supervising junior associates on tax-related projects.
  • Collaborating closely with securities and finance lawyers within the firm.
  • Interacting with investment bankers, financial advisors, and government officials nationwide on tax-related matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia.
  • 5-8 years of experience in tax law.
  • Strong understanding of transactional tax principles.
  • Experience in tax matters related to public finance, tax-exempt organizations, or other related areas is advantageous.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Any relevant tax certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation are preferred.

 

Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in utilizing legal research tools and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
