A law firm is seeking a Corporate Counsel for their Charlotte office.

 

Job Overview:

The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating principal and ancillary supply, purchase, service, transportation, and related agreements for commercial transactions. They will be involved in a wide variety of corporate and commercial projects and will have extensive client contact, providing pragmatic counsel. The ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication ability, a willingness to ask questions and learn, and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment.

 

Duties:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate principal and ancillary supply, purchase, service, transportation, and related agreements
  • Participate in a wide variety of corporate and commercial projects
  • Provide pragmatic counsel to clients
  • Engage in extensive client contact
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a team-oriented environment

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of corporate transactional experience preferred
  • Business background and ability to grasp business concepts quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • M&A experience is welcome

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar in the relevant jurisdiction

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in corporate transactional law
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide practical legal advice
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
