A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Associate Attorney to join its team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal writing and research, with at least 2 years of experience in civil litigation, and a passion for advocating for employee rights. Duties

  • Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Respond to written discovery and opposing motions.
  • Participate in trial preparation and represent clients in court.
  • Achieve firm targets and benchmarks related to caseload management.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Supervise support staff to ensure cases move forward in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and staff on various litigation matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Strong legal writing skills with a keen attention to detail; Law Review experience is preferred.
  • Active license to practice law in the United States.
  • Experience in employment law is a plus, though comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Passion for advocating for employee rights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with a state bar, eligible to practice law in the United States.
