A law firm in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Foreclosure Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience representing creditors in foreclosures, evictions, and/or title proceedings. The candidate will be responsible for preparing pleadings and motions, court appearances, legal research and writing, and communication with clients, outside counsel, and court personnel. Creditor-side bankruptcy experience and litigation experience are advantageous, and leadership and management skills are preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Prepare pleadings and motions related to foreclosure, eviction, and title proceedings.
  • Attend court appearances for motions, conferences, and mediations.
  • Conduct legal research and writing.
  • Communicate orally and in writing with clients, outside counsel, and court personnel.
  • Handle general litigation matters.
  • Utilize leadership and management skills as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience representing creditors in foreclosures, evictions, and/or title proceedings.
  • Admitted to practice in North Carolina, including respective federal district courts.
  • Experience drafting pleadings, appearing in court, and researching legal issues.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Creditor-side bankruptcy experience and litigation experience are advantageous.
  • Admission to practice in other states is a plus.
  • Portable book of business is a plus.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in North Carolina.
