A law firm is seeking a Personal Injury Associate Attorney with the following responsibilities, qualifications, and benefits:

Job Overview:

The Personal Injury Associate Attorney will be responsible for litigating NY personal injury cases, managing client relationships, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve successful outcomes for clients. They will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, compassion for clients, and proficiency in legal research and writing.

Job Details:

  • Litigate NY personal injury cases, including automobile and premises liability cases.
  • Work closely with clients, teams, and partners to develop factual and medical evidence for injury claims.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and other filings with various NY state courts.
  • Conduct research on a variety of novel legal issues in State and Federal cases and present and argue discovery motions.
  • Manage the court approval process for wrongful death and minor cases, including drafting petitions and presenting them to the Court.
  • Prepare cases for pre-litigation, litigation, and settlement.
  • Manage the filing of pleadings, track service of process, and ensure SOL deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to the NY Bar.
  • 3+ years of personal injury experience.
  • Team player: willing to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Caring and compassionate attitude consistent with the firm’s core value of Doing Good by Doing Right.
  • Excellent analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft suite and demonstrated comfort with technology.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects in a busy environment.
  • High attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
  • New York Bar Admission is required; Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Ohio, or West Virginia admission is a plus.
