Labor And Employment Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Newport Beach, CA, seeks a diligent and experienced Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to represent clients in court, primarily focusing on defending cases involving wage and hour violations, employment discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, and other tort claims. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, with a strong ability to manage a varied caseload and effectively communicate with clients, the court, and opposing counsel.

Job Duties:

• Represent clients in court, advocating for their interests in labor and employment disputes.
• Depose witnesses, including expert witnesses, as appropriate for the level of experience.
• Prepare cases for trial and assist in trial proceedings as necessary.
• Defend challenging cases involving claims related to wage and hour violations, employment discrimination and harassment, breach of contract, and other tort claims.
• Keep clients updated on significant developments in litigation through reporting and telephone conferences.
• Support client development and marketing efforts in collaboration with the partnership.
• Continuously develop legal skills through in-firm mentoring, in-house training sessions, and other professional development activities.

Requirements:

• Bar admission in the State of California.
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Strong organizational skills to effectively manage a varied caseload.
• Excellent writing skills to communicate effectively with the court, clients, and opposing counsel.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience in labor and employment law.
• Familiarity with California labor laws and regulations.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
