A law firm in Boston is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney with significant experience in energy project development, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and project finance transactions, particularly in the renewable power and energy transition sectors. The Energy Project Finance Associate Attorney will work on energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions, focusing on renewable power and energy transition. This role involves drafting primary deal documents, leading complex diligence, managing client interactions, and working collaboratively with internal specialist teams.

 

Duties:

  • Handle energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions
  • Draft primary deal documents, including purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements (including tax equity), financing agreements, and joint venture agreements
  • Lead complex due diligence processes
  • Manage junior associates and internal specialist teams
  • Interact with clients and stakeholders
  • Ensure high-quality work product and adherence to deadlines

 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in the project development and finance group
  • Admission to one or more State Bars
  • Significant experience in energy project development, M&A, and project finance transactions
  • Familiarity with energy regulatory matters, project real property, permitting requirements, and offtake agreements
  • Strong team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to handle significant responsibility and work in a fast-paced environment

 

Education:

JD degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to one or more State Bars

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of energy project finance and development
  • Ability to manage complex transactions and due diligence processes
  • Effective communication and client management skills
  • Detail-oriented approach to work
