A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Senior Mergers and Acquisitions and Energy Transactions Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate should have 5-7 years of law firm experience in mergers and acquisitions or project finance, preferably in a sophisticated national law firm environment. This role requires experience in renewable energy, oil & gas, project development, or construction contracts. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, business teams, and legal colleagues.

Duties:

  • Handle mergers and acquisitions transactions in the energy sector.
  • Work on project finance deals related to renewable energy, oil & gas, and project development.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for project development and construction.
  • Provide legal counsel on various aspects of energy transactions.
  • Interact with clients and collaborate with business and legal teams.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Independently manage and oversee client matters.
  • Provide expert legal advice on energy-related issues.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of law firm experience in mergers and acquisitions or project finance.
  • Experience in a sophisticated national law firm environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy, oil & gas, and project development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
  • Excellent academic record and writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas is preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in mergers and acquisitions and project finance.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy, oil & gas, and construction contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and with clients and teams.
