Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking an Infrastructure Associate Attorney to join its Energy & Infrastructure Practice. This role requires 4 to 8 years of experience in infrastructure-focused projects, particularly in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), project financing, and drop-down transactions. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with clients in a fast-paced environment, advising on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Location

  • New York, New York

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on infrastructure-focused projects, including PPP transactions, project financing, and drop-down structures.
  • Represent equity sponsors, financing parties, and other private sector participants in the PPP space.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction agreements, financial structuring documents, and regulatory filings.
  • Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to facilitate successful project execution.
  • Stay updated on legal, regulatory, and market developments impacting the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Requirements

  • 4 to 8 years of experience in infrastructure transactions, project finance, and PPP transactions.
  • Strong background in advising equity sponsors, lenders, and other stakeholders in infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-profile projects in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the State Bar of the office where the candidate will be located.

Skills

  • Expertise in infrastructure law, project finance, and public-private partnerships.
  • Ability to handle complex transactions and contractual negotiations.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, investors, and internal legal teams.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual discretionary merit bonus based on individual and firm performance.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including:
    • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
    • Mental well-being support.
    • Child, family, elder, and pet care benefits.
    • Short- and long-term disability coverage.
    • 401(k) program and flexible spending accounts.
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO) program for eligible employees.
  • Generous parental leave benefits and paid holidays.

Substantial billable hours is the primary way to get the big bucks and partnership consideration at this large New York firm. With West Coast roots, but not attitude, these New York lawyers work hard. Competitive and fast-paced, this firm excels across practice areas, but is doing some particularly interesting VC work. Although a type A environment to be sure, the atmosphere is still friendly, albeit without a lot of casual partner/associate interaction. Partner/associate relationships are strong in professional terms, however, with excellent marks for training and a fairly regimented associate development program. Now competing to be one of New York's finest, this firm is increasingly selective in associate hiring.

Your information will not be forwarded to any employers at this time. A recruiter will contact you with more information once our internal review of your resume is completed.
