Job Overview:
A top-tier law firm is seeking a mid- to senior-level Associate Attorney to join its Energy & Infrastructure practice in the New York office. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile domestic and cross-border transactions across a range of sectors including renewable energy, energy transition technologies, infrastructure, and natural resources. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in U.S. domestic renewables and project development, with a strong background in managing key aspects of transactions.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Lead and manage U.S. renewable energy transactions (solar, wind, energy storage, alternative fuels)

  • Draft, review, and negotiate project documents and transaction agreements

  • Advise clients on infrastructure and energy development across the renewables, oil & gas, mining, petrochemical, and power sectors

  • Collaborate with colleagues on domestic and cross-border matters

  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on legal, regulatory, and commercial issues

  • Support business development and maintain strong client relationships

Requirements:

  • Mid to senior-level associate (preferred classes: 2014–2020)

  • Demonstrated experience with U.S. domestic renewables transactions

  • Prior experience as a lead associate on complex project finance or energy deals

  • Background in infrastructure or broader energy sector transactions (preferred)

  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (as applicable to office location)

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of project finance and energy sector legal frameworks

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and client service orientation

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams
