A law firm is seeking a Bio Patent Counseling Associate Attorney with the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Bio Patent Counseling Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to biotech companies and investors in patent portfolio development, life cycle management, and intellectual property (IP) matters. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in patent counseling and prosecution and a deep understanding of molecular biology and biochemistry.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support to biotech companies and investors in patent portfolio development and management.
  • Conduct non-infringement and invalidity analysis, post-grant proceedings, and IP due diligence.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop strategic international patent portfolios.
  • Advise clients on IP issues related to product development and commercialization.
  • Handle legal matters related to licensing agreements, technology transfer, and IP litigation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4+ years of patent counseling and prosecution experience.
  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Experience representing biotech companies and investors.
  • Prior pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline.

Certifications:

  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of molecular biology and biochemistry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic legal counsel.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting patent searches and analysis.
