Job Overview

A respected law firm is seeking an experienced ERISA Associate Attorney for its Dallas office. This position is ideal for an associate (4th–6th year) with a strong foundation in ERISA matters and a focus on supporting clients with compliance, transactional, and regulatory needs. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, team-based legal environment.

Duties

  • Advise clients on ERISA and employee benefits matters

  • Conduct due diligence in corporate and transactional matters involving employee benefit plans

  • Draft plan documents, equity plans, resolutions, agreements, and amendments

  • Assist in responding to IRS and DOL audits and inquiries

  • Support corporate transactions by identifying employee benefits risks and obligations

  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas to support firm-wide initiatives

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of relevant legal experience

  • Prior experience in ERISA law required

  • Strong background in employee benefits-related transactional work

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar (Texas preferred)

Skills

  • Legal research and drafting expertise in the ERISA and employee benefits space

  • Knowledge of IRS and DOL regulatory procedures

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting

  • Strong client service and interpersonal skills
