A law firm based in Charlotte is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to provide legal advice and representation to clients across various litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of litigation experience and be licensed to practice law in North Carolina or willing to obtain a North Carolina license immediately.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on a variety of litigation issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
  • Correspond with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Participate in legal proceedings such as depositions, motion hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Focus on either general commercial litigation, fiduciary litigation, construction litigation, or employment litigation as per interest.

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 3-8 years of litigation experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or willing to obtain a North Carolina license immediately.
  • Experience representing either plaintiffs or defendants in civil litigation.
  • Proficiency in hearings, depositions, and/or motion practice.
  • Trial and arbitration experience is a plus.

 

Education:

JD from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of North Carolina.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.
  • Confidence in legal proceedings and ability to advocate effectively for clients.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation.
