A law firm in Charlotte is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join their team, representing clients throughout North Carolina. The successful candidate will attend various court proceedings, draft legal documents, and effectively manage multiple projects. This position requires strong time management, communication, and advocacy skills.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court proceedings including trials, motion hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, memoranda of law, and appellate briefs.
  • Meet and confer with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel to discuss case strategies.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines.
  • Utilize effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and workload.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in all interactions.
  • Analyze and interpret complex legal and business documents.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks while also collaborating with other team members.
  • Utilize oral advocacy skills during court appearances and other legal proceedings.
  • Demonstrate strong legal writing skills in drafting various legal documents.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina (candidates pending Bar results will also be considered).
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal and business documents.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong oral advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in legal writing.
