Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly qualified Associate Attorney to join its Corporate Department, with a focus on employment and labor matters. This position may be based in Los Angeles or any of the firm's U.S. offices. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of employment law experience from a nationally recognized law firm and will be well-versed in counseling corporate clients on compliance, drafting employment-related documents, and supporting transactional work.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a wide range of employment compliance issues, including:

    • Worker classification

    • Wage and hour compliance

    • Immigration-related employment concerns

    • Labor union and collective bargaining matters

    • Equal opportunity and anti-discrimination laws

    • Employment policies and handbook creation

  • Draft and negotiate:

    • Employment agreements

    • Separation and severance agreements

    • Restrictive covenants (non-compete, non-solicit, confidentiality provisions)

  • Advise on reductions-in-force, severance planning, and WARN Act compliance

  • Conduct employment-related due diligence for corporate transactions

  • Draft and analyze employment representations and covenants in transactional agreements

Requirements:

  • 5–7 years of employment law experience at a top-tier or nationally recognized law firm

  • Demonstrated ability to advise clients in both transactional and advisory capacities

  • Experience with employment-related components of mergers, acquisitions, and business reorganizations

  • Strong understanding of state, federal, and local employment laws

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing, or eligibility to waive into the jurisdiction where the candidate will be based (including California)

Skills:

  • Excellent writing, legal research, and analytical skills

  • Superior organizational abilities and attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Client-service mindset and collaborative work style
