Job Overview: A law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a talented Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, exceptional communication skills, and a strong foundation in bankruptcy law.

Duties:

  • Prepare Federal and State legal documents such as pleadings (including motions, briefs, responses, complaints, etc.), proofs of claim, summonses, and discovery-related documents.
  • Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.
  • Perform research and cite check using Lexis and Westlaw.
  • Conduct research and prepare information for various evidentiary hearings in federal and state court cases.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, and depositions to support and assist other attorneys.
  • Handle routine calls and correspondence to and from attorneys, trustees, debtors, clients, and the Courts.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed or eligible to be immediately licensed in North Carolina.
  • 2-4 years of experience in business bankruptcy, insolvency, and related litigation.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of North Carolina.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis and Westlaw.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Collaboration and teamwork capabilities.
