A law firm located in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney to provide comprehensive legal counsel and representation to clients throughout their bankruptcy proceedings. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor degree, be licensed to practice law in North Carolina, and demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills.

 

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal advice on bankruptcy laws and rights to clients facing financial difficulties.
  • Evaluate clients' financial situations and determine appropriate bankruptcy options, including Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 bankruptcies.
  • Review prepared petitions, schedules, and other bankruptcy documents for accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Represent clients in bankruptcy court proceedings, including hearings, motions, and adversary proceedings.
  • Negotiate with opposing parties, including creditors and trustees, to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed of the progress of their cases and provide guidance throughout the bankruptcy process.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on bankruptcy issues and developments.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm on complex bankruptcy matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of North Carolina and licensed to practice law in the state.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in bankruptcy law preferred.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of North Carolina.
