Job Overview:

A law firm specializing in business immigration law is seeking a dedicated and experienced Business Immigration Associate Attorney to join their team in Miami, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing case strategies, managing immigration programs, ensuring compliance, and providing exceptional client service. This role involves working closely with clients, foreign nationals, and internal teams to navigate the complexities of immigration law.

Job Details:

Duties:

  • Develop an expert-level understanding of the client base, support industries, and the firm’s practice areas.
  • Formulate case strategies through research, drafting, reviewing, and counseling clients.
  • Identify and resolve escalations and areas of underperformance.
  • Regularly communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural, processing issues, and case strategy.
  • Support clients in immigration program management and compliance.
  • Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status.
  • Collaborate with global mobility personnel to prepare petitions and applications for government submission.
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents based on established precedents.
  • Conduct research to support client requests and projects.
  • Proactively communicate with clients within SLAs/team protocols, providing precise, efficient, thoughtful, and organized responses.
  • Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects.
  • Supervise junior Associates and other staff, providing mentoring and coaching in immigration knowledge and expertise.
  • Seek and implement opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and implement guidance and direction from supervisors and experienced colleagues.
  • Use firm technology accurately, ensuring accurate and complete data entry.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and firmwide activities.
  • Ensure adherence to firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • U.S. JD or LLM required.
  • Member of a US State Bar or Washington DC Bar Association.
  • 2-3 years of experience at the Associate level.
  • Expanded practical understanding of immigration law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedication to exceptional client service.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
