A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an Immigration Attorney to manage a portfolio of client cases, provide high-quality legal representation, ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations, and foster a best-in-class organizational culture.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of client cases, conducting day-to-day work, client interactions, and representation.
  • Conduct intake of cases, consult with clients to understand case details and merits, and provide proactive communication throughout the process.
  • Represent clients in meetings, calls, emails, and other communications.
  • Conduct legal research using legislation, case law, and other sources to determine appropriate action and recommendations.
  • Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents, suggesting alterations as needed.
  • Request and review data and information from clients, ensuring confidentiality and secure storage.
  • Prepare business immigration memoranda, write/review contracts, and manage trademarks.
  • Conduct quality reviews of petition packages and correspondence for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Oversee the work of interns, law clerks, and paralegals, updating lead attorney on case progress, issues, and risks.
  • Capture hours spent on each case and maintain status reports.
  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of immigration types, application processes, emerging trends, and updates to immigration law.
  • Foster an organizational culture where teammates feel valued, celebrated, and engaged.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida.
  • Prior experience as a Legal Intern or Law Clerk for an immigration practice preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal software.

 

Experience:

0-3 years' experience practicing law.
