Job Details:

  • Stay updated on legal developments that may impact clients directly or indirectly.
  • Formulate creative legal strategies within regulatory frameworks to offer clients optimal legal advice.
  • Draft motions, review, and file cases, and prepare briefs and memoranda of law as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies.
  • Develop comprehensive legal strategies for clients' cases from inception to resolution.
  • Handle various immigration matters, including asylums, removal proceedings, family-based filings, naturalization, VAWA applications, and waivers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in statutory interpretation, particularly in immigration court.
  • Fluent in Spanish to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking clients.
  • Display empathy and passion for assisting clients in achieving favorable outcomes.
  • Exhibit a desire for professional growth and development within the field of immigration law.
  • Willingness to travel outside of the state as required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Florida State Bar or eligibility for reciprocity.
  • Experience practicing immigration law.
  • Proven track record in handling various immigration matters effectively.
  • Strong understanding of immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • An empathetic approach to client interactions and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience practicing immigration law in the Miami, FL area.
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in immigration law.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and technology for legal research and case management.
