Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly experienced and skilled Senior Advice and Counsel Associate Attorney to join its team in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will be key in providing legal guidance on employment practices, policies, and compliance matters. The individual will be responsible for conducting audits, drafting documents, and offering clear explanations of complex employment law issues to clients.

Job Details:

  • Conduct audits of employer practices, including wage and hour policies and procedures.
  • Draft and revise incentive compensation documents, including commission and bonus plans.
  • Draft and revise policies, handbooks, and other employee communication documents for clarity.
  • Understandably explain complex employment law issues for diverse audiences.
  • Identify problem-solving options, presenting pros and cons for informed client decisions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the CA State Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local workplace and employment law; additional understanding of enforcement techniques is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Preferred experience in conducting training or workplace investigations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
