Intake Attorney

A law firm is seeking an Intake Attorney for their Irvine, CA, location.

Job Overview: The Intake Attorney will provide comprehensive legal support to clients navigating eviction. This role involves advising clients over the phone, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and occasionally appearing in court. The ideal candidate should possess a J.D., an active California Bar license, and 1-2 years of attorney experience.

Duties:

• Assist clients step-by-step through every phase of the eviction process
• Provide legal advice through phone consultations, assessing the facts and issues of each scenario
• Conduct legal research to identify and evaluate cases and legal issues
• Draft legal correspondence, including letters and notices, based on client needs
• Conduct and direct legal document preparation and review, including summons complaints and stipulations
• Make remote law and motion appearances
• Assist with occasional court appearances and client presentations

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar license
• 1-2 years of experience as a licensed Attorney
• General knowledge of civil litigation
• Strong client service skills
• Ability to work with people of all educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds who may have differing communication abilities

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Litigation and/or jury trial experience is a plus
• General overview of landlord-tenant principles
• Some contact with the rental housing industry
