A law firm is seeking a Finance and Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney for their New York City office. The Finance and Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney will focus on advising institutional investors and/or lenders in debt finance and financial restructuring matters. The ideal candidate should have experience in a broad range of debt finance and financial restructuring issues, including amendment and consent requests, complex out-of-court restructurings and in-court proceedings, front-end investment structures, intercreditor agreements, and workouts. This role requires excellent writing, advocacy, and analytical skills. Strong academic records and impressive communication abilities are essential for success in this position. The candidate will work with the Financial Restructuring team within the Finance practice group, providing legal services related to finance and restructuring matters.

 

Duties:

  • Advise institutional investors and/or lenders in debt finance and financial restructuring matters.
  • Handle a broad range of debt finance and financial restructuring issues.
  • Assist clients in amendment and consent requests.
  • Participate in complex out-of-court restructurings and in-court proceedings.
  • Structure front-end investments and draft associated agreements.
  • Negotiate and draft intercreditor agreements.
  • Work on workouts and distressed debt transactions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to finance and restructuring laws.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including agreements, contracts, and pleadings.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on finance and restructuring projects.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in debt finance and financial restructuring at a law firm.
  • Experience advising institutional investors and/or lenders.
  • Strong understanding of debt finance and financial restructuring principles.
  • Excellent academic records from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in good standing.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission in the state of New York.

  • Proficiency in debt finance and financial restructuring matters.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial issues and provide strategic advice.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and communications.
  • Strong advocacy skills for representing clients in negotiations and proceedings.
