Derivatives Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a Derivatives Associate Attorney for its New York City office.

Job Overview: The Derivatives Associate Attorney will provide legal support in transactional and regulatory matters related to derivatives trading. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience and be admitted to the New York State Bar.

Duties:

• Drafting and negotiating documentation about derivatives trading, including:
  • ISDA Master Agreements
  • Prime Brokerage Agreements
  • Master Repurchase Agreements
  • Master Securities Forward Transaction Agreements
  • Accelerated Share Repurchase Agreements
  • Futures Agreements
  • Cleared Derivatives Execution Agreements
• Providing legal advice on corporate equity derivatives, such as converts, call spreads, etc. (experience in this area is a plus)
• Conducting legal research on derivatives regulations and compliance requirements
• Assisting with client communication and providing legal opinions as needed

Requirements:

• 3-4 years of experience in derivatives trading transactions and regulations
• Admission to the New York State Bar and good standing
• Prior experience with drafting and negotiating derivatives documentation
• Strong understanding of derivatives trading and related regulatory frameworks
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
