A law firm is seeking a Bio Patent Counseling Associate Attorney with the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Bio Patent Counseling Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel and representation to biotech companies and investors in patent portfolio development, life cycle management, and intellectual property (IP) matters. The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline and substantial experience in patent counseling and prosecution.

Duties:

  • Provide legal guidance and strategic advice to biotech companies and investors in developing and managing international patent portfolios.
  • Conduct non-infringement and invalidity analysis, post-grant proceedings, and IP due diligence.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and execute effective patent strategies to protect intellectual property assets.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of patent counseling and prosecution experience.
  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience representing biotech companies and investors in patent matters.
  • Prior pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline.

Certifications:

  • Must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in drafting patent applications and legal documents.
  • Knowledge of international patent laws and regulations.
