The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in evaluating patent portfolios, conducting due diligence investigations, and providing valuable legal counsel in the field of biotechnology. The candidate should be a registered practitioner before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and hold a Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the biotech sector, ensuring adherence to legal standards and client objectives.
  • Evaluate and analyze patent portfolios, providing strategic advice to clients on intellectual property matters.
  • Conduct due diligence investigations related to biotech IP, assessing risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and align legal strategies accordingly.
  • Stay abreast of developments in biotechnology, patent law, and related fields to inform legal advice.

Requirements:

  • 3-8 years of relevant experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in biotechnology.
  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is mandatory.
  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
  • Desirable: Prior experience in a law firm environment.
  • Excellent academic credentials reflecting a strong background in biotech and patent law.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.

Certifications:
