The role involves strategic advisory, patent portfolio development, and regulatory engagement for high-profile biotech and pharmaceutical clients.

Location

Duties

  • Provide strategic counseling and prosecution services related to patents in the life sciences sector.

  • Represent clients in global patent portfolio development, including due diligence and transactional support.

  • Advise on patent infringement defense and avoidance.

  • Participate in post-grant proceedings and disputes before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Develop protection strategies for second-generation drugs and biologics.

  • Conduct non-infringement and invalidity analyses for biotech innovations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in patent counseling and prosecution.

  • Background in handling patent strategies for life sciences clients, including biotech companies and investors.

  • Prior work involving international patent portfolio development and IP lifecycle management.

  • Experience with IP due diligence and post-grant proceedings.

  • Prior work in or exposure to the pharmaceutical industry is a strong plus.

Education

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences discipline.

Certifications

  • Must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills

  • In-depth understanding of patent law and USPTO procedures.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking in relation to biotech innovations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple high-profile client matters efficiently.
