Job Title: Personal Injury Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Charlotte, NC, seeks a skilled Personal Injury Attorney to oversee the pre-litigation department, ensuring world-class client service and efficient case management. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, good standing at the NC State Bar (SC State Bar admission a plus), and 5+ years of personal injury practice experience. Strong leadership, communication, multitasking abilities, and a commitment to ethical standards and client confidentiality are essential.

Duties:

  • Assign cases to Case Managers.
  • Conduct attorney reviews of non-priority cases to monitor coverage/liability issues and medical management.
  • Monitor departmental standards for client contact and checklist items.
  • Communicated with clients to promote excellent client service and medically managed cases.
  • Supervise Case Management Supervisor and Case Management team members.
  • Attend weekly pre-litigation conferences to evaluate case progress.
  • Review client surveys and address concerns with the Case Management Supervisor.
  • Manage employee issues in collaboration with the HR Director.
  • Communicate with external parties to facilitate case progression.
  • Process loan requests/documents and oversee the medical records department.
  • Ensure timely review of files and determine treatment relevance to accidents.
  • Conducted settlement appointments and handled department withdrawals/terminations.
  • Strategize to improve case value and time-on-desk metrics.
  • Review new cases for Statute of Limitations and adjust case management software.
  • Utilize dashboard reports to analyze case readiness.
  • Review Settlement Memos and negotiate with adjusters post-settlement.
  • Employ the firm's method for referrals during disbursement conversations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor is from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • The NC State Bar admission is in good standing; SC State Bar admission is a plus.
  • 5+ years of personal injury practice experience preferred.
  • Passion for client service and building a world-class operation.
  • Strong relationship-building and multitasking skills.
  • Supervisory experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume practice.
  • Demonstrate personal integrity, client confidentiality, and ethical standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office and CRM software (experience with Litify preferred).
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus.
