Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join the Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits team in Washington, DC. This role involves transactional deal work, including employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) transactions, and advising on all aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation matters.

Duties

  • Engage in transactional deal work, including ESOP transactions.
  • Advise on employee benefits, including retirement and welfare benefit plans.
  • Provide guidance on executive compensation matters.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of qualified benefits experience.
  • ESOP transactional and/or compliance experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Solid academic background.
  • J.D. degree and admission in good standing in Illinois, New York, California, or District of Columbia.

Education

  • J.D. degree required.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in applicable jurisdiction.

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
