A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing insurance defense matters, particularly focusing on bodily injury defense, construction defect, employment, or other insurance defense proceedings. This position emphasizes providing exceptional customer service and grants the freedom to direct legal strategy and litigation according to each lawyer's unique style. The candidate must be admitted to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing with the State of California Bar. Additional licensure in other states is considered a plus.

 

Duties:

  • Manage insurance defense matters, specializing in bodily injury defense, construction defect, employment, or other insurance defense proceedings.
  • Provide top-notch customer service to clients, guiding them through the legal process with care and expertise.
  • Direct legal strategy and conduct litigation according to individual legal styles, ensuring the best outcomes for clients.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, analysis, and preparation of legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and colleagues to develop effective case strategies.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
  • Stay updated on changes in insurance law, court rulings, and legal trends.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school (Required).
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of California and in good standing with the State of California Bar.
  • Should have experience in insurance defense, specializing in bodily injury defense, construction defect, employment, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing cases from inception to resolution.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (Required)

 

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in California (Required)
  • Additional licensure in other states (a plus)
