A law firm is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Development and Finance Associate Attorney in Washington, DC. The Renewable Energy Project Development and Finance Associate Attorney will work with clients in the clean energy industry on projects across the United States. They will focus on various agreements related to renewable energy projects and must possess strong written and oral communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Work with clients in the clean energy industry on renewable energy projects
  • Handle various agreements related to project development and finance
  • Draft and negotiate power purchase agreements, purchase and sale agreements, hedge contracts, equipment supply contracts, and construction contracts
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on project development and finance matters
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Communicate with clients and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff on renewable energy projects

 

Requirements:

  • 2-7 years of law firm experience in project development, finance, mergers & acquisitions, or commercial contracts
  • Experience in the renewable energy industry preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the state Bar

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of project development, finance, and commercial contracts
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis
