A law firm in Washington, DC, is actively seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney with experience defending financial institutions in state and federal court matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, writing, and analytical reasoning skills, with a preference for those experienced in financial services, contested foreclosure, and/or commercial or real estate litigation. Admission to the District of Columbia Bar is required, and Maryland or Virginia Bar admission is a plus.

 

Duties:

  • Assume responsibility in state and federal court matters, specializing in defending financial institutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on financial services litigation issues.
  • Draft high-quality legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Provide expertise and support in contested foreclosure matters.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to develop effective case strategies.
  • Actively participate in court proceedings and hearings.

 

Requirements:

  • Mid-level to Senior level experience in financial services litigation.
  • Experience in contested foreclosure and/or commercial or real estate litigation is preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school.

 

Certifications:

  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar.
  • Maryland or Virginia Bar admission (a plus).

 

Skills:

  • Strong research and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Proven ability to draft high-quality legal documents.
  • Experience in financial services litigation.
  • Knowledge of contested foreclosure and/or commercial or real estate litigation.
  • Ability to assume significant responsibility in legal matters.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
