Job Overview: A law firm in Wilmington, NC, is seeking an experienced Litigation Partner or Senior Counsel with a minimum of 10 years of significant civil and/or commercial litigation experience. The ideal candidate should possess a reasonable book of portable litigation business, exceptional legal acumen, and a commitment to excellence.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil and/or commercial litigation matters in North Carolina federal and state courts.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, including handling client consultations and negotiations.
  • Provide strategic guidance and legal counsel to clients on complex litigation issues.
  • Supervise and mentor associates and paralegals, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Conducted legal research and analysis and drafted pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to achieve client objectives.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to evolving Firm needs and legal landscapes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina Bar with litigation experience in North Carolina federal and state courts.
  • Minimum of 10 years of significant civil and/or commercial litigation experience.
  • Excellent academic credentials and legal research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Commitment to professional growth and learning new skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Current member of the North Carolina Bar.
