A law firm in Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney with at least 5 years of experience to provide comprehensive legal counsel on a wide range of environmental matters. The candidate will engage directly with clients and collaborate with colleagues across offices and practice groups.

 

Duties:

  • Advise clients on environmental matters related to mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, tax credits, and financing.
  • Handle permitting issues concerning stormwater, air, and water emissions.
  • Provide legal counsel on risk mitigation strategies and compliance with federal, state, and local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Address emerging contaminants and renewable energy projects.
  • Assist clients with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on environmental laws and standards, including CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, and CAA.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients on transactional matters and environmental litigation.
  • Experience with pollution legal liability insurance and prior defense sites preferred.
  • Ability to bring portable business is preferred.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.
  • Familiarity with federal environmental laws and standards.
  • Experience in transactional matters and environmental litigation.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

 

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
  • Experience advising clients on transactional matters and environmental compliance.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
  • Demonstrated success in environmental litigation is a plus.
  • Business development skills and ability to bring portable business preferred.
