A law firm is currently seeking a qualified Residential Real Estate Associate Attorney for their office in Charlotte, NC.

Job Overview:

The Residential Real Estate Associate Attorney will be responsible for conducting thorough reviews of title searches, ensuring compliance with North Carolina/South Carolina law, preparing preliminary/final title opinion statements, and conducting residential real estate closings. The role involves interaction with clients as a counselor and advisor, along with other related duties as assigned.

Duties:

  • Complete and thorough review of each assigned title search
  • Examination of all legal documents to ensure compliance with North Carolina/South Carolina law
  • Prepare preliminary/final title opinion statements
  • Conduct residential real estate closings involving lenders, buyers, and sellers
  • Interact with clients as a counselor and advisor
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited Law School
  • North Carolina and/or South Carolina (preferred) Bar license required, or the ability to obtain the additional North/South Carolina Bar license
  • 3+ years of real estate law experience preferred
  • Must be currently, or previously approved by multiple title insurance agencies to be considered

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited Law School

Certifications:

  • North Carolina and/or South Carolina Bar license

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of residential real estate law
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Familiarity with title insurance agencies' approval processes
