A law firm in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile cases and collaborate with senior attorneys in a professional and engaging environment that promotes career development and client interaction.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy development and management.
  • Participate in substantive client interactions, providing legal counsel and support.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation efforts.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Prepare for and represent clients in arbitration and litigation before state and federal courts and contract appeal boards.
  • Review and analyze contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to litigation matters.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations as necessary.
  • Assist in the investigation of cases, gathering evidence, and interviewing witnesses.
  • Keep clients informed of case progress and provide regular updates.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial litigation, commercial construction, and/or government contracts.
  • Experience representing contractors on public and private projects in arbitration and litigation.
  • Admitted to the DC Bar or eligible to waive in; Maryland and/or Virginia admission is a plus.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a legal team.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the District of Columbia Bar Association.
