Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a talented Mid-Level or Senior Global Projects Transactional Associate Attorney with expertise in construction contracts, particularly in the energy industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing construction contracts of various types and will be adept at leading teams, drafting contracts, and providing excellent client service.

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, including EPC, EPCM, BOP, equipment supply, and operation and maintenance.
  • Manage and oversee teams working on project transactions, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to global project transactions and energy industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with partners and other attorneys to develop strategies and solutions for clients' business needs.
  • Provide legal counsel on project risk management, compliance, and dispute resolution.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction of practice (Washington, DC preferred).
  • 3 or more years of experience in global projects transactions, focusing on construction contracts in the energy industry.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and supervising junior associates.
  • Strong drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex legal issues and information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and exceptional client service.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility for admission by motion or examination.
