Job Overview: A law firm in New York City is seeking a skilled Patent Lawyer with at least 2 years of patent prosecution experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various technological domains, including 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end. Strong academic credentials, analytical prowess, and exceptional communication skills are essential for success in this role. A background in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is highly preferred.

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution activities, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on patent matters related to 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and stakeholders to identify patentable inventions and develop patent strategies.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Manage patent portfolios and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Expertise in patent prosecution related to 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Registration with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) or eligibility to register for the USPTO.
  • Admission to and good standing with the Bar, or eligibility for waiver.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (preferred).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Registration with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Proficiency in patent prosecution processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of patent laws and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical concepts and articulate them effectively.
