A distinguished national law firm is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate to join its Los Angeles office. This full-time, partnership-track opportunity is ideal for a litigator with 5-7 years of experience in labor and employment law. The role offers hands-on responsibility for managing cases, participating in court proceedings, and working closely with a team of experienced professionals in a dynamic litigation environment.

Location

  • Los Angeles, California

Duties

  • Manage labor and employment litigation matters from inception through resolution

  • Handle depositions, motion practice, and court appearances independently

  • Draft and argue motions and legal memoranda

  • Communicate with opposing counsel, clients, and court personnel

  • Participate in settlement negotiations and strategy development

  • Assist in class action and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) litigation

  • Support trial preparation and courtroom representation as needed

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in labor and employment litigation (Class of 2020–2018)

  • Proven ability to independently run litigation matters

  • Deposition and motion practice experience required

  • Familiarity with communicating and negotiating with opposing counsel

  • Class action and/or PAGA litigation experience strongly preferred

  • Trial experience is a plus

  • Prior big law experience is a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar (Required)
