Writs and Appeals Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Writs and Appeals Attorney in San Diego. The Writs and Appeals Attorney will join the civil writs and appeals practice, focusing on education law and handling complex cases with a significant societal impact. They will prosecute and defend writ proceedings, handle state and federal appeals, draft petitions, motions, and briefs, and conduct intricate legal research.

Duties:

• Prosecute and defend writ proceedings
• Handle state and federal appeals
• Draft petitions, motions, and briefs
• Conduct intricate legal research
• Provide legal advice and guidance on appeals and writ matters
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff on cases
• Attend hearings and argue motions in court

Requirements:

• Member of the California State Bar
• 2-5 years of litigation experience

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the California State Bar
