A law firm in Durham is seeking a Patent Attorney specializing in Electrical/Computer Science Technologies with at least 2 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting due diligence investigations, and providing strategic counseling to clients.

 

Job Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the field of Electrical/Computer Science Technologies
  • Collaborate with the D&M team and in-house teams to develop and execute global IP strategies
  • Draft opinions of counsel regarding patent matters
  • Conduct due diligence investigations and perform freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses
  • Provide strategic counseling to clients through client-facing interactions
  • Stay updated on developments in patent law and technology

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related fields of study
  • At least 2 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience
  • Membership in the U.S. Patent Bar
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related fields of study
  • Membership in the U.S. Patent Bar
