Asbestos Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A national insurance defense law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of experience in asbestos litigation to join its growing St. Louis office. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-exposure toxic tort and complex litigation matters in a collaborative and professional team environment. The ideal candidate is licensed in both Missouri and Illinois and brings strong litigation and case management skills.

Location

Duties

• Manage a substantial caseload involving asbestos and toxic tort defense

• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda

• Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and expert witnesses

• Attend court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences

• Draft case evaluations and detailed status reports for clients

• Conduct legal research and analysis in support of litigation strategy

• Collaborate with partners, support staff, and clients in managing case progression

Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of experience in asbestos litigation or general insurance defense

• Admitted to practice in both Missouri and Illinois state and federal courts

• Additional state bar admissions are a plus

• Experience managing case files in a fast-paced litigation environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active licenses to practice law in Missouri and Illinois (required)
