Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its growing Personal & Succession Planning practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated estate planning matters, including high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth family estate planning, business succession planning, private trust companies, and charitable giving strategies. The firm emphasizes collaboration with other practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal services to its clients.

Location:

  • Cleveland, Ohio

Duties:

  • Draft and review estate planning documents for high-net-worth clients.
  • Provide counsel on business succession planning, private trust companies, and family offices.
  • Develop strategies for charitable giving and private foundations.
  • Collaborate with other practice areas to provide integrated legal solutions.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure the highest level of client service.
  • Support the development of junior associates through mentorship and professional development.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in estate planning, business succession, or charitable planning.
  • Strong drafting and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • LL.M. in Taxation is a plus, but not mandatory.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with efficiency and accuracy.
