William Choe Joins Arnold & Porter’s Corporate & Finance Practice as Partner in Northern California
Arnold & Porter announced today that William Choe has joined the firm’s Corporate & Finance practice as a partner, resident in the Silicon Valley office.
Jonathan Hughes, head of Arnold & Porter’s San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices, said: “Bill is a terrific addition to the Silicon Valley office and his arrival reflects our continued investment in the West Coast. Bill will further strengthen our offering in the California transactional market and beyond.”
Ron Levine, co-chair of Arnold & Porter’s Corporate & Finance practice, said: “Bill is well known in the M&A legal community for his deep experience in domestic and cross-border transactions, particularly in technology mergers and acquisitions. His arrival will build on the firm’s existing transactional capabilities and help our clients to navigate the evolving M&A technology landscape.”
With more than 25 years of experience, Choe has represented prominent public and private technology companies in a range of domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including stock and asset sales and purchases, tender offers, spin-ins, and divestitures and divisional sales, as well as in the innovative sectors of artificial intelligence, digital media streaming, voice and vision technologies, autonomous vehicles, and the Internet of Things. He also has significant experience in advising high-technology companies at early-through-exit stages of their growth cycle, as well as venture capital and private equity funds that focus on investing in such companies. Choe’s outstanding work in the M&A space has been recognized by Chambers USA and Legal 500 United States.
In joining the firm, Choe said: “Arnold & Porter has excellent transactional capabilities as well as exceptional antitrust and regulatory coverage in both the U.S. and European markets. Choe earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame, M.B.A. from Columbia University, and B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Choe’s arrival follows the recent additions of Gina Cavalier in Los Angeles, and Catherine Hagerty and Meredith Osborn in San Francisco.
