Global law firm Goodwin today announced that Jonathan Shapiro joined the firm’s Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice as a partner, resident in the San Francisco office.

Shapiro’s practice is focused on securities litigation, government enforcement actions, and commercial litigation. He counsels clients in a range of securities matters, including class actions, securities fraud, and M&A litigation. Shapiro has litigated class actions, challenges to corporate transactions and governance, and other matters regarding allegations of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, including jury and bench trials. He regularly defends and conducts internal and regulatory investigations on behalf of clients facing actions by the SEC, DOJ, FINRA, and other entities. Shapiro has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers USA, Litigation: Securities in California.Prior to joining Goodwin, Shapiro served as chair of an international law firm’s California litigation department.
