Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Novato, CA, to represent clients in silicosis and/or asbestos personal injury and wrongful death actions. The role involves drafting legal documents, attending and taking depositions, managing client relationships, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

Duties

• Attend plaintiff depositions, including travel within and outside California.
• Research and prepare clients for depositions; defend clients during depositions.
• Evaluate defendants post-deposition for potential dismissal or addition.
• Complete discovery and prepare evaluations for each set of discovery.
• Prepare oppositions to motions for summary judgment.
• Manage assigned cases, including offensive discovery planning and client communication.
• Attend office meetings and training sessions; maintain computer skills and continuing education.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate Degree.
• Active member of the California State Bar.
• 4-5 years of civil litigation experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
